Work-Study Programs
Federal Work-Study Program
The Federal Work-Study Program provides students in need with an opportunity to earn money during the academic year and during the summer. In order to work, students must be in good academic standing based on Lehigh Carbon Community College’s financial aid academic progress policy and be enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester. The Office of Financial Aid awards these federal funds based on financial need and on fund availability. Students may work up to 20 hours a week. Federal work-study funds are paid by direct deposit to the student’s designated account for the hours worked. Earnings may not exceed the amount awarded to the student. Once offered employment, students must complete: PA Criminal Background Check (Act 34), PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) and FBI Criminal Clearance – Fingerprinting (Act 114). The college will cover the cost of these clearances.
College Employment
Students are asked to complete the financial aid application process (FAFSA) to be considered for part-time employment up to 20 hours a week. However financial need is not a requirement for participation in this employment program. In order to work, students must be in good academic standing and be enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester. College employment funds are paid by direct deposit to the student’s designated account for the hours worked. Earnings may not exceed the amount awarded to the student.
